For the best quality printing of photos, there are three primary printers, The HP, Canon, and Epson, all three manufacturers will give outstanding print quality, although Epson, and HP printers, with individual cartridges for each color, must be heavily used to remain in good working condition.

 

Epson and some of the canon and HP models, have the print head inside the printer, some are removable, and some are a part of the printer. There are a few HP and canon models that have  theirs as a part of the cartridge.

              The advantage of having the head on the cartridge is, if the head dries out and wont recover, it can be discarded and replaced easily, and relatively cheaply, where as, with many of the Epson and HP models, if the head dries out, you may not be able to get the head working again, which leaves you no other choice but to replace the printer, and or head assembly, both are costly and many opt to just replace the printer.

             Constant use is the only thing that will prevent this in these models.
